The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a pair of roster moves, one of which included placing defensive back Grayland Arnold on injured reserve.

The team announced the move on Thursday, and it means Arnold is out for the 2024 season. With the extra spot on the offseason roster, the Steelers signed defensive back Kiondre Thomas.

Arnold, who had been seeing first-team reps in the slot recently after fellow candidate Beanie Bishop struggled in preseason Week 1, suffered a calf injury in practice on Wednesday. Bishop is now back in the driver's seat to start in the slot.

A former undrafted free-agent signing of the Cleveland Browns in 2018, Thomas has appeared in five games during his career, four with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 and one with the Green Bay Packers in 2023. He'll be a practice body and is unlikely to make the roster.

The Steelers are set to have a joint practice with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday before the two teams meet in preseason Week 2 on Saturday.
