A pair of ACC foes will meet in the Elite Eight of the 2024 NCAA Tournament when fourth-seeded Duke battles No. 11 N.C. State on Sunday in Dallas.
The Blue Devils are playing in their 24th Elite Eight matchup, marking the third most appearances by any team in that round. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack are making their first Elite Eight appearance in 38 years.
Duke and N.C. State split their two regular-season meetings.
The Blue Devils advanced with a 54-51 victory over top-seeded Houston in the South Region semifinal at American Airlines Center. It was the Duke's first win over a No. 1 seed since defeating Wisconsin, 68-63, in the national championship game on April 6, 2015.
Jeremy Roach scored 14 second-half points, and Kyle Filipowski led the team with 16 points and nine rebounds in the victory over the Cougars, who were held to their lowest scoring output of the season.
Through three NCAA Tournament games, Duke's defense has averaged just 51 points allowed per game.
