The Green Bay Packers have plenty of money left to spend this summer and could target a superstar.

Green Bay has had a strong offseason so far and has high hopes for the 2024 season but could use a boost in the secondary. Luckily for the Packers, they have some money to spend still.

The Packers have the eighth-most cap space remaining at just under $27 million and there are some top-tier free agents still out there who could help Green Bay.

One player who was mentioned as a possible option to help the Packers in free agency this summer is former Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Dallas Cowboys superstar Stephon Gilmore by ESPN's Aaron Schatz.

"Here's another team with questions at their second outside cornerback position," Schatz said. "Eric Stokes is penciled in to start opposite Jaire Alexander, but Stokes has played only12 games in the past two seasons due to different injuries, including ankle and hamstring problems. The Packers need a backup for Stokes with more experience than Corey Ballentine or Carrington Valentine. Gilmore, 33, still has something left in the tank and would be valuable to the Packers even if he couldn't beat out Stokes for the starting spot in training camp."

Gilmore has been one of the best cornerbacks in football over the last 10 years and was named the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. If the Packers are looking for some help in the secondary, he makes a lot of sense.

Green Bay certainly could afford him if it wanted to get a deal done. The Packers should be one of the top teams in the NFC in 2024 and adding Gilmore only would help with this fact.
