What NFL teams have the best chance of winning Super Bowl 59?
At +600, the Chiefs have a 14.29% implied probability of winning Super Bowl 59, the highest of any NFL team.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes continues to dazzle as the league's top quarterback. More bad news for the rest of the NFL? The Chiefs upgraded their offense with the addition of wide receivers Marquise Brown (Cardinals) and Xavier Worthy (Univ. of Texas).
The Chiefs led the NFL in dropped catches last season, and Mahomes still found a way to win. That should be less of a concern this time around with two talented WRs in Brown and Worthy, whose 4.2 speed will make him a deep threat in KC's passing attack. Brown is dealing with an injury, but it is reportedly not serious.
WR Rashee Rice, however, could face a suspension due to his offseason transgressions. Tight end Travis Kelce also returns to the fold, but he enters the new campaign at the age of 35. His best years might be behind him.
Isiah Pacheco is KC's featured back. He ran for a shade under 1,000 yards last year and added seven TDs on the ground. Pacheco also caught 44 passes out of the backfield last season, making him a true dual threat.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones is the headliner on a defense that was primarily responsible for the Chiefs winning Super Bowl 58.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are again the class of the NFC with the new season nearly upon us. Fun fact: San Francisco returns all 11 starters on offense, although disgruntled WR Brandon Aiyuk could be traded to Pittsburgh before the season opener.
Brock Purdy enters his second full season at QB after throwing for the most passing yards (4,280) in franchise history last year.
Deebo Samuel and George Kittle are both back as primary receiving targets for Purdy. Christian McCaffrey continues to be one of the NFL's most prolific TD scorers. He shared the league lead at 21 TDs with Miami's Raheem Mostert last season.
San Francisco's defense gave up just 18.8 points per game last year. That was the fourth lowest in all of the NFL, and the 49ers gave up less than 90 rushing yards per contest.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have been a must-play in the underdog role since Lamar Jackson joined the team. The 2023 NFL MVP was 12-1 ATS as a dog through the end of last year's regular season.
The bad news for Baltimore came in a dismal 10-point effort against the Chiefs, which bounced them from last year's playoffs. That 17-10 loss in the AFC Championship Game gives them plenty of motivation heading into the Sept. 5 season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.
Baltimore added a big name in Derrick Henry, who came over from Tennessee. He's reached the critical age of 30 as a running back, but Henry is expected to help decrease Jackson's rushing workload this season.
Baltimore will win games by running the ball and with its defense, which features the same defensive line as last year led by DT Justin Madubuike.
