Only twice in Kansas program history have the Jayhawks made bowl games in consecutive seasons — in 2024 they’ll try to make it to three in a row for the first time.
CBS Sports projected the entire College Football Playoff and every bowl game, which includes No. 22 Kansas facing No. 23 USC in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28 in San Antonio. The Jayhawks are ranked in the AP Preseason Top 25 for the first time since 2009.
CBS had 10 of 16 teams from the Big 12 Conference making it to the postseason, including Utah and Kansas State in the CFP.
Kansas went 9-4 in 2023 and capped the season by defeating UNLV in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and were ranked No. 23 in the final AP Top 25 Poll. USC is coming off a disappointing 8-5 season and in its first year in the Big Ten Conference after leaving the Pac-12 following the 2023 season.
