The competitive eating legends will meet on Labor Day in "Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef," a live event that will determine whether Chestnut or Kobayashi is the ultimate hot dog champion.

Joey Chestnut vs. Takeru Kobayashi hot dog eating contest rules
- Contestants will have 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as possible.
- Contestants are not allowed to dunk or pour water on hot dogs and buns. They are also not allowed to separate hot dogs from buns.
- Penalties can be issued if contestants break rules or regurgitate.
- Contestants will have 30 seconds to finish what is left in their mouths after time has expired.
- Excess crumbs can be weighed and deducted from final scores.
- First overtime (if necessary): Contestants will have three minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as possible.
- Second overtime (if necessary): The winner will be the first contestant to finish five hot dogs and buns.
