CM Punk finally got his lick back against Drew McIntyre … and against AEW … before it was all said-and-done at the Bash in Berlin. Having returned to the WWE at Survivor Series in November 2023, and draped in controversy over his split with the rival promotion and the previous decade spent verbally mauling WWE, Punk sent a silent shot at AEW on Saturday night.

The Second City Saint took to the ring for a strap match against his mortal enemy, Drew McIntyre, donning the very same tights he once wore across the proverbial street.

So if you thought his tights looked familiar, that’s because he wore them at AEW: All in, in what was his final match in AEW that followed a backstage altercation leading to his dismissal.

Maybe it’s water under the bridge for Punk, but it seemingly isn’t, and you could rightfully blame AEW for throwing kerosene on the fire when they decided to release the backstage video earlier this year that basically, and accidentally, exonerated Punk entirely.

He’s now thriving in his second stint in WWE, however, and that includes taking the victory at Bash in Berlin, and in convincing fashion, to set his trajectory due north — now fully recovered from injury suffered in January at Royal Rumble.

The self-proclaimed “Best in the World” sure looked close to it in Germany.
