The curtain comes down on men's individual tennis at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as two of the world's best players meet yet again on the biggest stage of all to decide who will win the gold medal to further etch their name in the history books.
Carlos Alcaraz was the first player to book his place in this year's Olympic decider, breezing past all before him as he continues his world-class run of form in 2024. Tommy Paul and Felix Auger-Aliassime have been no match for the Spaniard, who will play in another Roland-Garros decider just a matter of weeks after winning the French Open title.
In between these two feats, Alcaraz has also won Wimbledon for the second year running with a demolition of Djokovic in straight sets, and having lit up the 2024 Games alongside Rafael Nadal with their partnership in the men's doubles competition, looks to add to a trophy cabinet which, at the age of just 21, seems to get fuller and fuller by the week.
With his 6-2 6-2 7-6 straight-sets defeat to Alcaraz still fresh in the memory, Djokovic will certainly be hoping to get one over the Spaniard as the two leading players on the tennis circuit go into battle. An Olympic gold medal is the only accolade left for Djokovic to win, and doing so at Roland-Garros – where he's won three French Open titles – would be some feat.
Djokovic has beaten plenty of highly-seeded opposition on his way to the decider, getting past Alcaraz's Spain teammate and 2008 Olympic gold medal winner Rafael Nadal in the second round. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Lorenzo Musetti followed in the last eight and semifinals respectively, with both dispatched in straight sets.
As Alcaraz and Djokovic face off once more with an Olympic gold medal on the line, the men's tennis final at the 2024 Olympic Games is certainly not one to miss – and to ensure you can keep tabs on all the action, The Sporting News has your schedule, TV and live streaming details covered.
