Today's the day! The winner of the 2024 World Snooker Championship will be decided over the course of the next 24 hours, deciding who will hold the crown of the sport's biggest title winner for the next 12 months.

This year's tournament has seen shock results from almost the minute go, with defending champion Luca Brecel knocked out in the first round, and fellow top seeds Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump both exit proceedings at the quarterfinal stage. That set up a pair of semifinals where the highest-ranked player remaining was 12th seed Kyren Wilson, and he overcame David Gilbert 17-11 to reach the final.

That sets up a decider which will see Gilbert face off against Jak Jones on Sunday, May 5, after the 44th-seeded Welshman beat Stuart Bingham.

The runner-up of today's final receives £200,000, just under half the winning total, but that'll be far away from the minds of Wilson and Jones as play gets underway.
