The qualifying process for the European Championship is almost finished, with teams desperately trying to book their spot at the 2024 tournament.

Germany — who are in the midst of a national-team crisis after dismissing Hansi Flick as coach and replacing him with Julian Nagelsmann — were the first nation to book their spot at Euro 2024, qualifying automatically as hosts. They will be desperate to find form in warm-up friendlies before next summer.

After Covid-19 forced the 2020 tournament to be held a year later in 2021, with Italy edging past England at Wembley in a dramatic penalty shootout in the final, all roads are clear leading to Germany this time out.

In the first week of October, fans had the opportunity to start the process of obtaining tickets for the tournament, which begins on June 14 next year.

The Sporting News goes through all the ticketing details for the competition, the prices and how fans can secure their seats.

When are tickets for Euro 2024 out?

German Unity Day (October 3, 2023) marked the start of the ticketing process for Euro 2024.

Fans needed to pre-register for tickets before that date by creating an account on Uefa's official Euro 2024 website. That means those interested in buying tickets could be ready in plenty of time for when the application period officially began at 2 p.m. CET (8 a.m. ET/1 p.m. BST) on October 3.

UEFA says that more than 80 per cent of the total 2.7 million Euro 2024 tickets will be made available to fans of the participating teams, and the general public. In the application period beginning on October 3, 1.2 million tickets will be made available.

The allocation of tickets will then take place via a ballot after the application window closes on December 2 — that's when the 'dedicated sales phase' starts for fans of the 21 qualified teams who know their groups and fixtures by that stage.

Further tickets will be held back for sale to supporters of teams that qualify via the playoffs, which take place in March 2024.

How much will Euro 2024 tickets cost?

UEFA says ticket prices will start from €30 with more than a million available for less than €60.

Precise ticket prices, including general admission and hospitality options, will be made available by UEFA in due course. Naturally, prices for the latter stages of the tournament, and the final in particular, will be more expensive. For the final of the 2020 event at Wembley Stadium, prices were as high as €945.
