FIFA 23 delivers a host of new additions and tweaks to last year's game. And one of the most notable differences between editions is the presence of new teams and stadiums.

FIFA 23 delivers massively on this front, with some iconic clubs and venues returning to the EA Sports franchise.

It's not all good news, however, with some teams from FIFA 22 having disappeared or going by a new name.

New teams in FIFA 23

FIFA 23 marks the long-awaited return of Juventus to the game.

The Italian giants were previously licensed by Konami and were known as Piemonte Calcio in recent FIFA releases.

Women's football is also getting a much greater presence in FIFA 23 with clubs from the Women's Super League and Division 1 Arkema set to be added for the first time.

Fans of the English fifth-division will finally be able to play as those clubs too with the Vanarama National League joining the game.

It also seems that every national team that has qualified for the 2022 World Cup is included in the game, meaning a few new international sides are set to feature.

  • Juventus
  • Women's Super League teams (Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Reading, Spurs, West Ham)
  • Division 1 Arkema teams (Bordeaux, Dijon, Fleury, Guingamp, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Paris FC, PSG, Reims, Rodez, Soyaux)
  • Aldershot Town
  • Altrincham
  • Barnet
  • Boreham Wood
  • Bromley
  • Chesterfield
  • Dagenham & Redbridge
  • Dorking Wanderers
  • Eastleigh
  • Halifax Town
  • Gateshead
  • Maidenhead United
  • Maidstone United
  • Notts County
  • Oldham Athletic
  • Scunthorpe United
  • Solihull Moors
  • Southend United
  • Torquay United
  • Wealdstone
  • Woking
  • Wrexham
  • Yeovil Town
  • York City

New stadiums in FIFA 23

Five new stadiums have been added to FIFA 23 with four of those returning after absences.

Stadio Olimpico, Camp Nou, Allianz Arena, and Allianz Stadium are all back this year after previously being exclusive to eFootball.

Nottingham Forest's City Ground Stadium is the only completely new addition after they sealed a return to the Premier League for the 2022-23 season.

  • Allianz Arena
  • Allianz Stadium
  • Camp Nou
  • City Ground Stadium
  • Stadio Olimpico

Which teams won't be in FIFA 23?

While Juventus are in FIFA 23, a host of Serie A clubs won't appear in their true form.

Roma, Lazio, Atalanta, Napoli and Inter Milan are all licensed elsewhere so will be listed in FIFA 23 under different names.

Mexico and Japan's first-divisions, Liga MX and J-League, are also reportedly set to be absent from the new game meaning teams from those competitions will be missing.

There will be no Russian teams in FIFA 23 either after EA Sports opted to exclude them as a result of their invasion of Ukraine.

"EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine," a statement read.

"In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23."

Why was Juventus not in FIFA previously? Piemonte Calcio explained

In 2019, Juventus struck a deal with Konami's eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer to appear exclusively in that football videogame franchise.

As a result, the Italian giants have been known as Piemonte Calcio in FIFA games since 2020.

The name translates to 'Piemonte Football' in English with Peimonte an Italian region in which Juventus are based.

Aside from the name, FIFA also had to provide a different club badge, kit and stadium for Juventus during that period.
