Matildas and Chelsea star Sam Kerr will face a criminal trial next year after an alleged incident with a police officer in January.
The football icon appeared before court via video link on Monday, March 4 to plead not guilty during an initial hearing about the incident.

The incident allegedly occurred on January 30, 2023 in Twickenham.

Kerr allegedly vomited in a taxi, had an argument with the driver about a taxi fare, before allegedly calling a police officer a “stupid white bastard”.
The Australian star spent time in custody after the incident and was interviewed by police.

After Kerr pleaded not guilty to all charges via video link Kingston Crown Court, a four-day trial was scheduled for February 2025.

Sam Kerr injury: Will she play for the Matildas at the Olympics?
Kerr suffered an ACL injury barely a week into 2024, and will likely miss close to nine months.
This means that she will be sidelined for the remainder of the WSL season, and will also not play at the Paris Olympics.
Some had floated the idea of Kerr being brought into the squad just for penalties, but experts quickly quieted that idea, with former Socceroos' goal-keeper Mark Schwarzer imploring Kerr to be 'selfish' and not try and rush back for the Olympics.
