Argentina can still top Group B after their opening round loss if it takes care of business in the group stage finale.

The Albiceleste take on Ukraine at Stade de Lyon on Tuesday, July 30 with both teams looking for a win to advance to the quarterfinals. Argentina can advance as well with a draw, while Ukraine needs a win, or to beat Iraq or Morocco on goal difference if it is a draw. All four teams in Group B are tied with three points, so it all comes down to the final match.

Argentina coach Javier Mascherano played for his nation at two Olympics, winning in both 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing, so he will likely know exactly what to tell his young squad ahead of this crucial match.

For Ukraine, they secured an incredible 2-1 win over Morocco in the second group stage match even while down to ten men, giving them a chance to continue their dream Olympic journey.

Argentina vs. Ukraine lineups, team news

Javier Mascherano's side recorded a key win against Iraq and told the media before that match that he wants his team to approach these games as if they are a final. Mascherano has some big decisions to make, as starters Marco Di Cesare, Joaquin Garcia, and Ignacio Fernandez, along with reserve Luciano Gondou all are on a yellow card. If any of them receive another and Argentina advances, they'll have to miss the quarterfinals.

Argentina starting XI (4-4-2, right to left): Rulli (GK) — Lujan Melli, Di Cesare, Otamendi, Zenon — Almada, Fernandez, Gondou, Medina — Beltran, Alvarez.

Ukraine coach Ruslan Rotan will be without centerback Volodymyr Salyuk after he was shown a straight red card in the last match. There are also no less than eight players on a yellow card so Rotan will have to deal with those lineup decisions should one of them receive another yellow in the final group stage match.

Ukraine starting XI (4-5-1 right to left): Fesyun (GK) — Krupskyi, Talovierov, Batahov, Martynyuk — Rubchynskyi, Braharu, Kryskiv, Mykhaylenko, Khlan — Sikan.

Argentina vs. Ukraine prediction

Argentina has felt every emotion a team can feel at this Olympics, thinking they secured a draw in the first game only for it to be ruled out more than an hour later for being offside, and then getting a crucial win in the second match. Argentina should have enough firepower to take down a Ukraine side that needs a win and may have to push far forward, leaving space behind for Alvarez to exploit.

Prediction: Argentina 3-1 Ukraine
