For the first time since 2009, Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi will go head-to-head in a hot dog eating contest.

The competitive eating legends will meet on Labor Day in "Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef," a live event that will determine whether Chestnut or Kobayashi is the ultimate hot dog champion.

  • Contestants will have 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as possible.
  • Contestants are not allowed to dunk or pour water on hot dogs and buns. They are also not allowed to separate hot dogs from buns.
  • Penalties can be issued if contestants break rules or regurgitate.
  • Contestants will have 30 seconds to finish what is left in their mouths after time has expired.
  • Excess crumbs can be weighed and deducted from final scores.
  • First overtime (if necessary): Contestants will have three minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as possible.
  • Second overtime (if necessary): The winner will be the first contestant to finish five hot dogs and buns.
