The blood feud that’s existed between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has raged on for months now, and weekly between RAW and SmackDown, with both brutalizing each other time and again en route to things coming to a head — or rather, a strap — at Bash in Berlin.

Having lost to McIntyre at SummerSlam, Punk’s first singles match in the WWE in more than 10 years, he got revenge by impressively dismantling McIntyre in Germany this past weekend and, with the series tied at one a piece, you’d think the WWE would set it up for best two out of three.

Nope.

Speaking after his victory, Punk says that’s a no-go.

“That’s definitely the end for me and Drew McIntyre,” said Punk following his victory, via WWE

Instead, he’s turned his attention to something he reunited with WWE to acquire before the events at Wrestlemania 40 took him in a different direction.

“What’s next for me is I’m gonna take a long, hot shower,” said Punk. “I’m gonna try to find some donuts, and I’ve got myself a main event to watch because I’m very interested in the results. Gunther versus Randy Orton, and some people like to say, ‘May the best man win.’ But, in this case, may the best man win because the better man is coming for you.”

He then channeled the remainder of his inner Booker T., sort of.

“I want the gold. I’m coming for you, sucka.”

Booker T. famously said it differently, but it’s very, very wise for Punk to intentionally spin it differently, if you know what I mean.

Gunther went on to defeat Randy Orton in visceral fashion and, in the process, became the No. 1 target on Punk’s next hit list. Of course, there’s still the matter of Seth Rollins for Punk to contend with, whenever that might be, but that’s not what’s on his mind right now.

The title around Gunther’s waist is.
