Cody Rhodes is legitimately one of the best ambassadors of professional wrestling to ever lace up a pair of boots. His latest display of love and adoration for the WWE Universe came by way of a recent show — when the WWE Champion noticed one sign in particular amongst the sea of them in the audience.

It belonged to the family of a young man who overcame a life-threatening procedure, brain surgery, and didn’t let his recovery process stop him from seeing Rhodes and other WWE superstars live and in living color.

Of course, Rhodes brought the young, courageous kid into the ring with him, and awarded him a special gift: Rhodes’ weight belt.

“I want to point out a sign that’s right over here," said Rhodes. "It says, ‘I survived brain surgery to be here.’ That’s amazing. You survived brain surgery, so this belt goes to you, my friend.”

And so it goes that some superstars are baby faces out of the need of a storyline, while others are simply born that way, and Rhodes is definitely the latter.

Every opportunity he gets, be it stopping to sign every single autograph for fans outside of an arena or making the day of a survivor of brain cancer, the Universal Champion continues to prove he’s the platinum standard of ambassadorship.
