Nothing went as planned for Bayley in her title match against Nia Jax at Summerslam in Cleveland. Following weeks of disrespect hurled from both sides, the reigning Queen of the Ring dethroned the WWE Women’s Champion and, in the process, sent Bayley back to the drawing board — leaving some to wonder if a DAMAGE CTRL reunion might be in play.

Hi, I’m Someone.

On the latest episode of RAW, DAMAGE CTRL showed the possibility of attempting a full face turn when they went at Zoey Stark, Sonya DeVille and Shayna Baszler; and that’s could be what a furious Iyo Sky was hinting at when she kept demanding the faction undergo a change of some sort.

And seeing as Bayley is now face again, and that she is founder of DAMAGE CTRL, it just makes you wonder out loud, is all, but first she’d have to move past the betrayal they perpetrated upon her in 2024.

The fact she wound up acquiring the belt from Iyo Sky in the wake of that betrayal could make things Even Stephen, but time will tell.

Until then, Bayley had some things to say about the championship ahead of Summerslam and why, in her mind, she was never supposed to get it in the first place — in an interview with Joey Karni of The Angle Podcast

“No. No, this was never the goal. Iyo Sky becoming champion was the goal. Dakota Kai becoming champion was the goal. It was weird.

“I was talking to people when I was pitching for this, there were videos that I did and promos that I wrote that [were] like, 'I’m not here to be a champion. I’ve done all those things. I couldn’t care less about those things. What I’m here to do is for them to feel that, [and] for them to have their ‘Mania moments, their SummerSlam moments, to become champion.'

“Luckily, we were able to do that, and [me taking the title] was kinda just like a little side piece —a little part that I wasn’t expecting, and that’s their fault. If they wouldn’t have turned on me, Iyo could’ve still been champion, but here we are.”

Yes, here we are.

At least for now …
